The Roost is a vision conceived by 3 men that have worked in the Food and Bev scene of Charleston SC for over 20 years. They worked in many various places during the last two decades, but found a common ground when they put together the plans for The Roost. “We all wanted a neighborhood bar that offered sports, great live entertainment, and felt like home.”
The Roost is nestled in the Avondale Neighborhood right outside of downtown Charleston. The old barnwood on the walls along with the long bamboo bar gives the roost a very warm and inviting feel. Avondale is a special neighborhood that offers a great variety of restaurants, cafes, and retail without the trip downtown. We are proud to be part of such a great area in Charleston.
Ralph, Dennis, and Reay are active owners at The Roost. At least one of them can be seen working on a daily basis. This provides a special closeness to the customer that can be felt upon walking into the establishment. The three men love to spend time with their families outside of the business and are avid sports fans. They also have a strong bond for support of local service men and women, military, and local charities. The staff at the Roost is one of the main reasons for its success and the 3 owners are always proud to stand beside them.

Meet Chef Brandon Cohen
He was born and raised here in Charleston. His culinary attributes were started early by his family that enjoys cooking and realizes the importance of gathering around the table. Brandon has been serving up great food in Charleston for almost 15 years and truly enjoys what he does. When he's not honing his skills, he enjoys spending time with his family and his newborn twins.
